Waddler was born of an adventure. When our first little boy was a year old we left our life in London behind and moved to South America. We traveled far and wide across the continent but found ourselves drawn toward the Andean region that lies between Argentina, Peru and Bolivia.
Our son spent his first years picking avocados in a tropical garden, riding bareback with gauchos and dining on the Andean specialty: roast guinea pig. He saw the forests come alive with Ceibo blossom in the winter, watched fireflies light up his bedroom in spring and clapped his hands at alligators lazing in the hot summer sun. Our clothes are inspired by the magic of this life.
Produced in Bolivia, our first collection has been designed for boys and girls from newborn up to five years and blends luxuriously soft wool with beautiful and fun designs. Our clothes are made to fair trade standards in 100% baby Alpaca, one of natures finest natural fibres.
We spent some months in Bolivia working with the knitters to develop this collection and it was a joy to witness the wool to Waddler process. Watching Alpacas graze on the sepia colored altiplano. Visiting the factory where clunking nineteenth century British machines wash and spin the raw wool. And of course meeting the wonderful and welcoming knitters whose work we hope you will love as much as we do.
